It’s not looking to good for me. I was at the race. My very first race, and the rains came. I don’t have a ride back down there. so Im @$$ed out of some cash. ( keeping my fingers crossed)
As for ESPN. they run Sports Center shows during the day none stop, so they can break into race coverage and show other things on ESPN 2
Let’s concentrate on Pocono. They run twice a year at Pocono. Obviously, there are some problems with weather. As a fan, I hate seeing cancelled qualifying, I hate postponed races, and I hate weather shortened races. There is no reason to hold two races a year at Pocono, especially if one will be a joke.
NASCAR should consider moving that late July/early August race to a more reliable venue. I think Denver, for example, would be a great candidate. Arid climate with quick moving storms in the summer, solid metropolitan area, no other Sprint Cup race within hundreds of miles, and tens of thousands of the most rabid sports fans. Even if not Denver, Pocono #2 needs to be moved to “somewhere else”.
It sucks, life goes on, I have class at NTI in the afternoon, and can’t watch the whole race, but I’ll get over it and find out what happens later. I’m not going to let rain delayed races ruin my day.
Waaa, waaa, rain postponed the race I wanted to watch today and moved it to tomorrow. Waaaa. Sounds childish doesn’t it?
Pink Chickens, what would you rather see? A little bit of a race that gets stopped partway through and postponed, or a whole race on a bright sunny afternoon, even if it is on a Monday? Personally, I’d hate to see them race to the rain. I’d prefer they get the whole race in on one afternoon, whether or not I get to watch it.
Well, the race will be broadcast on ESPN tomorrow, Monday Aug 10th at 12 noon ET, so I suppose that affects ESPN’s schedule. As for my reaction, well, I think it sucks, but there’s nothing anyone can do about mother nature.
I understand that Nascar has broadcast and sponsor issues, but I just don’t get it that if they knew weather was on the way why they didn’t try to move up the start of the race.
I have to work tomorrow which is making me cranky. Sorry. But I gotta love the DVR!
Its just racing and that dang mother nature, its okay I have a DVR and I have Trackpass and I will have that on my computer at work so, I’m okay.. Please Michigan next weekend, Steffy our Y/A gal from Michigan, I’m counting you to make sure we have some great weather there on Sunday. I know she is gonna be at the race, so have some great weather vibes please..
Go Dale Jr
Rain is very peacful, compared to several tornados that passed through the upper midwest Saturday. I was pretty comfortable watching the driver interviews. It didn’t bother me too much.
DKDIIDIFNDFOEJFOIEJFIENFODSNFOSDNFONSDOI…
I WANTED TO WATCH IT TODAY!!!!!!!!!
I have SCHOOOLLLLL tomorrow! AUGH! Have no time to watch. You guys tell me what happens.
Its getting real old! took off Sunday (again) Now I won’t see anything. After 26 years following this sport, this rain crap is getting old. Losing patience!
Frustration! I had my day planned out perfectly for watching the race. I’ll be at work tomorrow while the race is on. I think rain should be against the law on race days.
Well I wish I could have seen the race today, but I am lucky I can watch the race tomorrow from home while working in the home office. Kind of nice.
i am off on Monday i get to watch the race instead of the end of the race
Nobody can control Mother Nature.
“If it rains it pours.” As the saying goes
No reaction.
I’ll watch it tomorrow.
That’s life.
im just gunna start planning every week for racing monday
Weather issues happen. That’s all you really can say. Even Brian France isn’t powerful enough to control the weather.
Mother Nature sets the schedule for all sporting events!!! This is nothing new.
I can call in sick to work.
Not cool. sundays a tradition!
boo rain…….
